The Duncannon Village St. Patrick’s Day Parade is back!

What a turn out we had for the Duncannon St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2025. Thanks to you all for showing up on the day, to the participants of the parade, to everyone that helped us in anyway, to all of the houses & businesses that decorated your windows & doors, to Pat Kent for his live streaming of the morning & to Dr. Kevin Byrne – Our Grand Marshal for the 2025 Parade.

The Duncannon St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2025 is in memory of the late Fr. John, you might recall his participation in parades gone by…that was him in the tricolor afro on the back of a David Brown Tractor (open to correction on the make of the Tractor.)

We are proud to have Dr. Kevin Byrne as this years Grand Marshal. Kevin has been caring for us all here in the community since 1990 aswell as being heavily involved with St. Jame’s GAA & taking on the role of the official Doctor for the Wexford footballers. We couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of the role.

A special thank you to Eoin Cleary – School Principal of Duncannon National School for taking on the very important role of ‘St. Patrick’ for the Parade on Monday & also to the pupils who both marched in the parade AND helped to banish the snakes down on the beach.

We’d like to say a big THANK YOU to John T Ennis who on Saturday out of his own time, tools, paint & kindness, decided to paint up the graveyard wall at the church to freshen it up for the parade. Such a kind & thoughtful thing to do.

We’d like to say a MASSIVE ‘Thank You’ to Chrissy of Salt Skin Therapy for the use of her electricity for the musical equipment on not just St. Patrick’s Day but also at our Christmas Event. She kindly provided it Free Of Charge & without hesitation the minute asked. That’s what Community Spirit & Kindness is all about.

Here’s to next year, we think Father John would be proud!
